Girls Go Places
The Mother Daughter Day Out & Book Club
We seek to encourage African American mothers to unite through communities, organizations and institutions such as churches and schools to create a "mother den" whereby African American girls can receive the extended community nurturing that is lacking for many African American families in the U.S.
We believe that one of the main ways to create deliberative and constructive dialogue is through book clubs. Mother Daughter book clubs can foster critical group discussion about issues, concerns and solutions to many of the problems affecting African American girls, women and their families.
We are also offering a national database for all those seeking to offer similar opportunities in their communities and wanting to provide information to those seeking such services.
